Nestled in the green hills above the central California coast, a short drive from the beach town of Cayucos, Wellspring Ranch is a beautiful organic farm that’s also an inn featuring luxury yurt cabanas.

This blissful spot just opened for public stays last year, although innkeepers Jennifer and Richard Arfa have lived on the property for nearly twenty. Accommodations are a mix of stunning yurt cabanas, a classic

airstream trailer, a chic converted barn loft, and a warm main lodge. Visitors enjoy relaxing in Adirondack loungers by the koi pond, strolling the rose gardens and extensive oak-lined paths.

Along with private bathrooms, plush outdoor showers are perched beneath tall trees. A communal outdoor kitchen serves guests delicious locally-sourced breakfasts daily with options like cashew pancakes and chili and cheese scrambled eggs; tapas are served two nights a week. The airy potato tacos are a specialty.

The resort features a beautiful communal cabana living room, the Accueil, perfect for playing board games, browsing the regional library, or sitting by the fire. There’s an outdoor fire-ring, hammocks, and a yoga studio.  But it’s the individual yurts that make this a brilliant get away: plush king beds, charming art works, skylights, and cozy Jotul gas fireplaces.

Wellspring Ranch is a special treat. There’s nothing like star gazing through a private skylight, glass in hand.
